Ed Sheeran- Divide

I was waiting for sooo long for this album to come out so I’m really excited that it finally came.

I am a big Ed Sheeran fan since I was little so I really appreciate his work. I listen to his songs when I am sad, happy, angry, at all times actually..

To compare this album with Multiply, I’d say that Divide is much more energetic than Multiply. But of course it still has some sort of emotion that will carry us through our hard times eventually.. I was waiting for a more emotional album like Multiply which makes me cry everytime I listen to because that’s just how Ed Sheeran is. His songs are generally speak for us, define our own emotions, say what we always want to say, what we always think about. And this makes us cry sometimes, helps us when we feel lonely.

On the other hand Divide has a more cheerful content in the whole. The album is still emotional but it has such balance that you feel the emotional intensity but you also get the energy it gives. I pretty much loved all the songs as they have the right melodies, lyrics, verses etc. they are just right.
My two favorite songs for now are Perfect and “What Do I Know” but I think it will change when I listen them properly after a long time, not like I did today listening the album over and over again…

So basically I just loved the whole album it was worth waiting for !

Let me know your favorite songs !

  1. I like Dive, Eraser and Supermarket Flowers. Really dislike Galway Girl because it makes me cringe so hard it’s like an out-of-body experience but the rest of the songs seem okay. I think there are a few solid singles on there!

  8. I’m really obsessed with Dive right now. Just the lyrics and the theme makes me so engaged in the song and reflective on my own life and experiences. I also really really love Nancy Mulligan. It such a sweet and beautiful song filled with so much love and passion. I just adore the fact that it was written about his grandparents!

It is so hard to pick just one song ! Every day I have a different one from this album stuck in my head, but I think the lyrics of What do I know, Happier and Save myself are closer to my heart. I also really like the instrumental of Hearts don’t break around here and Barcelona !
